Alexey Kostikov, PhD
Alexey Kostikov received hisÌýM.Sc. degree in Chemistry from the Saint-Petersburg State University (Russia) in 2001 and completed hisÌýPhDÌýin Chemistry at the University of Georgia (US) in 2007. After hisÌýfirst postdoctoral appointment at Syracuse University (US), heÌýjoined the Montreal Neurological Institute in 2009 as a Research Associate and later became an Assistant Professor of radiochemistry. HisÌýcurrent research projects are focused on theÌýdevelopment of novel positron emission tomography (PET) radiotracers for in vivo imaging of unexplored neurological biomarkers andÌýimproving the efficiency of radiolabeling procedures. Kostikov uses a microPET camera for carrying out pre-clinical imaging and in 2017 was appointed director of the microPET unit. HeÌýisÌýalso heavily involved in day-to-day operations of the PET/cyclotron core facility that is offering an extensive library of PET radiotracers toÌýthe neuroscience researchÌýcommunity at Â鶹AV and across the province of Quebec.
