The Azrieli Centre for Autism Research (ACAR) held a Symposium on Neurodevelopment and Neurodevelopmental Disorders during The Neuro’s annual retreat on Friday, June 2, 2023.
This event brought together many ACAR researchers from across The Neuro and Â鶹AV, as well as participants from other institutions. Scientists with diverse backgrounds but a common interest in neurodevelopment and neurodevelopmental conditions gathered together to present their advances in multiple areas of neurodevelopment, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and neurodevelopmental disorder (NDD) research.Ìý
Dr. Guy Rouleau, Director of The Neuro, got the proceedings underway with a welcome address, followed by an introductory note by Stefano Stifani, ACAR’s Associate Director of Fundamental Research.
The symposium comprised six sessions spanning the breadth of ACAR activities, ranging from ASD/NDD clinical care to experimental model systems for ASD/NDD research to ASD/NDD drug development and the evolving Canadian landscape for ASD/NDD clinical trials.
This well-attended day-long symposium offered ACAR researchers from The Neuro and Â鶹AV the opportunity to present their latest work to an audience of fellow colleagues, promote interdisciplinary collaboration and the exchange of cutting-edge insights, and continue to build a strong and connected ACAR community, while also serving as an opportunity for the participants to socialize and get to know each other more.
