THE ALAN EDWARDS PAIN MANAGEMENT UNIT OF THE MCGILL UNIVERSITY HEALTH CENTRE

The Alan Edwards Pain Management Unit is the official facility for pain treatment in adults at Â鶹AV Health Centre (MUHC) and is part of Â鶹AV's Alan Edwards Centre for Research on Pain. Located at the Montreal General Hospital the Unit offers the following Fellowship opportunities:

* A Clinical Fellowship in Pain Medicine that is intended for physicians who are interested in learning about the clinical aspects of Pain Medicine. The Clinical Fellowship in Pain Medicine at the Unit is a comprehensive training program. Fellows are assigned their own patients and develop and implement a treatment plan under the supervision of a staff physician. Medical, psychological and interventional approaches are employed as patients are followed over time. Only candidates coming with their own funding will be considered for this position.

THEÌý ALAN EDWARDS FELLOWSHIP IN CLINICAL PAIN RESEARCH

THE ALAN EDWARDS FELLOWSHIP IN CLINICAL PAIN RESEARCH

The Louise and Alan Edwards Foundation of Montreal requests applications for the Alan Edwards Fellowship in Clinical Pain Research. The objective of this fellowship is to support a position encompassing both clinical pain research and clinical activities conducted at the Alan Edwards Pain Management Unit of the Â鶹AV Health Centre. This Fellowship is intended for health care professionals with an MD or PhD title, who wish to pursue original clinical research in the field of Pain Medicine within the multi-disciplinary team at the Pain Management Unit. Previous research experience is preferable but not mandatory. The Fellowship has a stipend* commensurate with experience.

Funding is for one or two years with the second year contingent upon mutual satisfaction. Should ethics approval be required, The Foundation requires that an application be submitted within 3 months of the start date. Acknowledgement of The Louise and Alan Edwards Foundation must be given in any and all publications or posters related to this Fellowship. A synopsis of the research project is to be submitted to The Foundation at each year's end.
