Project Description:
The purpose of the project is to convert SF6 25KV distribution switches. These two circuit breakers supply power to the McLennan and Redpath library pavilions as well as the Bronfman and Armstrong pavilions.
Project Scope:
The downtown 鶹AV campus is supplied with electricity by several Hydro-Quebec medium voltage lines that form a set of medium voltage loops. A large portion of the campus is supplied by the “Rutherford - McLennan” loop. Two medium voltage lines enter the Hydro-Québec disconnection chamber, from which a single line enters the McLennan electrical substation in the MB032 electrical room.
In this room, the existing 4-way switch cabinet (Joslyn type with SF6 insulating gas) (two switches, two circuit breakers) must be replaced by two motorized MVS (medium-voltage switchgear, i.e. switches). line) and two motorized MVIs (molded vacuum interrupters, i.e. circuit breakers with protection units for transformers and lines). These two circuit breakers supply the pavilions of the McLennan and Redpath libraries as well as the Bronfman and Armstrong pavilions.
