Staff tuition policies

Staff Dependent Waivers

Students who are dependents of full-time Â鶹AV staff members may qualify for a staff dependent tuition waiver. Employees should contact the HR Service Centre at (514) 398-4747 for information regarding eligibility criteria. The Staff Dependent Tuition waiver policy can be found on the Â鶹AV Benefits site. The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and consider the portion of tuition fees waived for employees' dependents should be recorded as taxable income to the student rather than the employee. This amount will be reported on T4A and RL-1 slips issued to the student. Further details regarding the Staff Dependent Waivers for administrative and support staff can be found here.

Tuition Assistance for Â鶹AV Staff

Â鶹AV staff may be entitled to a tuition waiver equivalent to 100% of the portion of eligible tuition fees. For complete details, refer to the policies and procedures found at on the HR website under Tuition Assistance. Here you can complete an online request form as you register. Should you not successfully complete the courses as detailed in the policy, the exemption will be cancelled and you will be required to pay these fees according to regular payment deadlines.

For Â鶹AV staff taking courses, should you wish to opt out of the Student Services and/or Athletics and Recreation fees, please see the Student Services Fee page for more information and to reach out to the Office of Student Services for clarity.  Completion of the Application for Reimbursement form is required to be reimbursed of these fees.  Such students must be eligible for the employee tuition assistance program.  The Request for Educational Tuition Assistance form can be found here.
