Â鶹AV Commitment
Fund purpose: The Â鶹AV Commitment, one of the President's five priorities, pledges to offer Â鶹AV undergraduate students opportunities to challenge themselves to expand their horizons and to provide comprehensive support, advising, and mentoring.
Types of projects: Projects that improve advising for students and provide experiential opportunities.
Funding available for 2024-25: $3,253
Eligibility: Open to student groups, faculties and units.
Submission cycle:
- April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025 (applications must be received by March 14, 2025)
- Payments are issued starting May 1, 2024
To apply:
Submit the following documents in an email to studentgroups.dpsll [at] mcgill.ca (studentgroups[dot]dpsll[at]mcgill[dot]ca) titled "Funding Proposal: Â鶹AV Commitment".
- A word document of no more than 750 words containing:
- Project description/summary and objectives;
- Expected impact/benefits to the population it will reach;
- How the project aligns to the purpose of the funds; and
- Timeline of project development.
- A budget proposal that clearly outlines the amount of funds requested and the projected use of the funds. Please use this template for the budget proposal.
Academic Advising and Mentoring
Fund purpose: To support activities that enhance academic advising and mentoring.
Types of projects: Peer-to-Peer mentoring, Ask-an-Advisor program, and any other advising and mentoring activities.
Funding available for 2024-25: $25,000
Eligibility: Open to all student groups, faculties and units.
Submission cycle:
- April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025 (applications must be received by March 14, 2025)
- Payments are issued starting May 1, 2024

Fund purpose: To support and improve services for students, i.e., workshops designed to encourage and empower students and enhance their experiences and overall quality of student life at the University.
Types of projects: Projects related to the improvement of services for students, such as:
- Workshops designed to encourage and empower students and enhance their experience and overall quality of student life at the University
- Improve training and support programs including workshops, conferences and other professional development opportunities for academic and front-line staff
Funding available for 2024-25: $3,000
Eligibility: Open to student groups, faculties and units.

- April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025 (applications must be received by March 14, 2025)
- Payments are issued starting May 1, 2024

Fund purpose: To support professional development activities in the student advising area.
Types of projects: Projects related to the support of professional development activities in the student advising area, such as:
- Conference attendance for advisors and front-line staff
- Training and networking events within the University
Funding available for 2024-25: $2,272
Eligibility: Open to advisors and student facing front-line staff.
Submission cycle:
- April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025 (applications must be received by March 14, 2025)
- Payments are issued starting May 1, 2024

Types of projects: Workshops designed to empower students, promote student well-being and enhance the overall quality of student life.
Funding available for 2024-25: $2,895
Eligibility: Open to undergraduate students.
