Introducing the uPrint service for students at Â鶹AV

Each year, Â鶹AV produces over 75 million impressions on campus printers and copiers - equal to a stack of paper 14 times the height of the CN Tower.

In an effort to adopt more sustainable and economical printing solutions, the uPrint service is being deployed over the next 3 weeks in all Libraries, Residences and other public areas that have Xerox machines. uPrint is a new way for students to print, copy and scan at Â鶹AV. Features include:

  • More affordability, more sustainability: Copy and print costs for students are $0.06 per single page and $0.20 per colour page (plus tax). Default double-sided printing helps keep Â鶹AV green.
  • Free scanning: scan documents and send them to yourself, classmates, professors or friends by email - at no charge. Save paper and money!
  • Follow-me-anywhere printing: send your print job from anywhere as long as you are connected to Â鶹AV's wireless network or VPN. Release it at any public uPrint machine on campus by simply using your Â鶹AV ID card.
  • Print now, pay later: copying and printing is charged directly to your student account. You can review your costs at any time using .
  • No more copy cards: refunds on existing copy cards will be available at a kiosk in Redpath Library starting the week of March 28. Details on the MacDonald Campus refund location will be posted as an IT Announcement as soon as they become available.
