Training and MSc program

The main training programs are offered by the Division of Social and Transcultural Psychiatry at Â鶹AV:

  • Summer Program in Social and Cultural Psychiatry
    The annual summer program provides conceptual background for research and clinical work in social and cultural psychiatry. The program was inaugurated over 25 years ago, and each summer it welcomes a diversity of researchers, clinicians and students from around the world.
  • Advanced Study Institute in Cultural Psychiatry
    The ASI is an annual workshop and conference for the advanced study of current issues in cultural psychiatry. Typically, it consists of an intensive two-day workshop for researchers followed by a public conference attended by mental health practitioners, educators and policy makers.
  • MSc in Psychiatry (Social and Transcultural Psychiatry)
    The MSc in Social and Transcultural Psychiatry is a specialization within the graduate program in Â鶹AV's Department of Psychiatry. Students take courses in Cultural Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology, in addition to conducting thesis work in a relevant field. Â鶹AV are handled by the Department of Psychiatry.
  • Clinical Training in Cultural Psychiatry (See the Cultural Consultation Service (CCS) website)
    The Cultural Consultation Service provides comprehensive assessment and evaluation of patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. The CCS offers opportunities for research and/or clinical internships and fellowships for graduate students in psychology, psychiatry, medicine, nursing, social work and anthropology.
