Prior to joining the Â鶹AV Visual Arts Collection in 2013, Gwendolyn Owens has held curatorial positions at Cornell University, Williams College, the University of Maryland, and the Canadian Centre for Architecture. As an expert on collection management, she has worked with many institutions, particularly universities, to help them develop and uphold professional standards. Her scholarly publications include articles, exhibition catalogues, and books on a wide range of subjects in American and Canadian art and design: from mid-nineteenth century American landscape painters to kitchen wallpaper in Canada, to Georgia O’Keeffe and artist/architect Gordon Matta-Clark.

As Assistant Curator of the Visual Arts Collection, Michelle Macleod’s role includes collection research, curatorial projects, and communications. Before joining the VAC team, Michelle was an editorial assistant at theÌýGail and Stephen A.ÌýJarislowskyÌýInstituteÌýfor Studies inÌýCanadian Art.ÌýMichelle completed her Ph.D in Art History from the Interuniversity Doctoral Program at Concordia University. Her doctoral research examined photo-mechanical processes and the dissemination of early Canadian photography in nineteenth-century illustrated periodicals. She holds a MA in Photographic Preservation & Collections Management from Toronto Metropolitan University and a BFA in Art History from Concordia University.

Jessica Régimbald

Jessica earned her Masters in Arts Conservation (MAC) from the prestigious program at Queens University, specializing in paper conservation with additional photograph conservation training. Previously, she has made significant contributions to renowned institutions such as the Canadian Center for Architecture, Library and Archives Canada, and the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec. Currently, she is actively expanding her academic knowledge by pursuing a Professional Specialization Certificate in Collections Management from the University of Victoria. Additionally, Jessica is enhancing her management skills by also pursuing a post-graduate microprogramme in Management of Cultural Organisation at HEC Montréal.
