My research focuses on the creation of an optimization framework to improve the placement of aircraft components. Through this work, I hope to automate and improve decision making in aircraft conceptual design. I am very grateful to be a Vadasz Scholar, as the financial support allows me to fully concentrate on my research.

I hold a Bachelor of Architectural Studies from the University of Waterloo and an M. Arch from Â鶹AV. I am pursuing a PhD in Architecture on the development of the community health centre in a Canadian context. The Vadasz Scholarship allows me to focus on this research.Ìý

Nicolas Paris
With a background in Bioresource Engineering, I am currently pursuing a PhD in Civil Engineering as part of the Energy Technology and Policy Assessment research group. My research focuses on analyzing the environmental impacts of road transportation using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). The ultimate goal is to inform decision-making through the modeling of future fleet scenarios that can reduce the environmental impacts of road transport.
Charles St-Arnault
I am pursuing my PhD in electrical engineering, focusing primarily on photonic devices and systems. My current research involves the use of photonic Ising machines to solve complex NP-hard problems such as protein folding. To me, this scholarship represents not only recognition of my work but also financial support, allowing me to pursue my research with greater focus and independence.

Alexia Denoncourt
My research focuses on the use of nanocellulose to improve energy storage systems. Specifically, I am integrating this biodegradable nanomaterial into electrochemical and gas hydrate energy systems. I am very grateful to be a Vadasz scholar as this allows me to pursue my research without financial concern.
Thomas Lai
I graduated from Â鶹AV Engineering in 2023 and now I am pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering at the iSMART laboratory. The Vadasz Fellowship is a great support to my research in AI and machine learning, and specifically, in developing time series anomaly detection algorithms with application to epilepsy, industry, and more.Ìý

After completing my Master's degree at Â鶹AV and gaining a year of experience as a silicon validation engineer, I am now pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering, focusing on next-generation channel coding techniques for wireless communications. I am honored to have received the Vadasz scholarship, which enables me to dedicate more time to my research and to making it accessible to a broader audience.
