The Mohawk community of Kahnawà:ke and Â鶹AV launched the first-ever Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.) First Nations and Inuit Education (FNIE)  program to be given in the community of Kahnawà:ke, on August 20.

It’s a labour of love between Â鶹AV’s Office of First Nations and Inuit Education (OFNIE) in the Faculty of Education, and the Kahnawà:ke Education Centre (KEC). It’s also in line with Â鶹AV’s Task Force on Indigenous Studies and Indigenous Education.

Over the first week of July, the Â鶹AV International Institute of Education (MIIE) hosted 23 high school students from Maple Leaf Educational Systems (MLES) in China for its inaugural MIIE Student Summer Academy.

Recently, the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) announced the recipients of its latest round of , including a Â鶹AV-led grant totalling around $25,000 over one year. One Â鶹AV researcher will also collaborate with a grant led by Ryerson University.

Ratna Ghosh, of our Department of Integrated Studies in Education, has been named as a MembreÌý鳾é°ù¾±³Ù±ðÌýof the Order of Excellence in Education in Quebec (OEE). Prof. Ghosh received the medal at a ceremony in Quebec City on Friday, June 15th.
