On Thursday May 10th the MAHI was one of the sites for Â鶹AV’s Compassion Week, hosting a Compassion Day in collaboration with the Â鶹AV Council on Palliative Care. We were joined by a number of people from across the Â鶹AV community including faculty and students. A number of art activities and workshops took place throughout the day.

Students on Ice

This summer, six Inuit Faculty of Education student-teachers from Nunavik will have the opportunity to participate in Teacher Training on Ice, a two-week Arctic sea expedition up the Greenlandic coast, across Davis Strait, and around the northern edge of Baffin Island to Resolute Bay.

Deborah Maia de Lima and Lou Sheppard will join Â鶹AV's Faculty of Education as Artists-in-Residence for the 2018-19 academic year. The news was recently announced by the P. Lantz Initiative for Excellence in Education and the Arts.

Carolyn E. Turner has been named as the winner of the 2018 Cambridge English Language Assessment/ILTA Distinguished Achievement Award.

Carolyn Turner completed her PhD in Second Language Education at Â鶹AV in 1988 with a dissertation on the factor structure of cloze test performance in francophone university level students. She went on to work as Assistant then Associate Professor at Â鶹AV's Department of Integrated Studies in Education.
