How to Register
Follow the steps below (or watch a video tutorial) to register forÌýcourses on Minerva:
- Log in toÌýÌý(if you encounter any difficulty,Ìýcontact the Minerva Helpline at 514-398-7878 or email them at itsupport [at] mcgill.ca)
- From the main menu, select Student MenuÌý>ÌýRegistration Menu
- Select Search Class Schedule > thenÌýAdd Course Sections
- Choose the term you wish to register for, then clickÌýSubmit
- From this page, select a subject code, then Course Search
- Select View Sections for the course you wish to register for (if the course you want to register for is full, see )
- To choose a course, check the box on the far left (beforeÌýthe CRN option)
- Select Register

Troubleshoot Registration Issues
Registration Period
Registration can only take place during the designated period at the start of each term. Consult the table above for registration dates.
If you are registering for a course in which you are waiting for the final grade of a pre-requisite course, you should register under the assumption that you have passed the pre-requisite course.
Account Holds
You may be unable to register (or access student records) due to a hold that has been placed on your account.
"It Takes All of Us" Hold
To clear this hold, you must completeÌýIt Takes All of Us: Creating a Campus Community Free of Sexual Violence, a mandatory online learning program that strives to ensure that our campus culture is based on respect and consent.
- Sign in to with your Â鶹AV credentials
- Select "View All Courses" and search "It Takes All of Us"
- Complete the five modules (takes about 1 hour)
- Once you pass, you will receive an email confirmation
- Wait 1-3 business days for the hold to be removed before you can register
"Tuition & Fees" Hold
This hold usually means you have an outstanding balance in your student account. .
To view your balance:
- Log in toÌýMinerva
- Go to the Student Menu tab
- Select Student Accounts Menu > View Account Summary by Term
Inactive Student Status
If you have not been active in your program (i.e., registered for courses) for more than three consecutive terms,Ìýyour status will change to "inactive."ÌýThe three consecutive terms includes any term in which you withdraw from all courses before the end of the term.
If you were admitted to a program and your status is now "inactive," you will be required to re-apply to the program.
Prerequisite or Test Score Error
