Talks to Management Graduate
Lucie Laliberte
Lucie has been at 麻豆AV for five long years which include her two years at the 麻豆AV CEGEP. This year she is graduating in accounting.
Lucie says her everyday life as a Management student has been 鈥渟tudy, study, study,鈥� leaving little time for madcap college activities.
Her active participation in 麻豆AV extra-curricular activities include playing on the Management Hockey and Broomball Teams, showing considerable tendencies toward the killer instinct in both. Last year she organized the Management Sugaring-off Party which rivalled one of Truman Capotes liveliest affairs. She also enjoyed the Wine and Cheese parties sponsored by the MUS since it gave mildly inebriated students and professors a chance to relation on a down-to-earth level.
Upon considering the topic of le fran莽ais et l鈥檃nglais in Management at 麻豆AV, Lucie commented that most French students are supporters of the Parti Qu茅b茅cois. However, she found being French did not present any problems with dealing with her teachers; Lucid also commented that not enough French students in Management mix with their English colleagues, which would be to everyone鈥檚 advantage.
On the problems that a woman in Management might face, Lucie assured us that they were minimal. When asked if any of her professors could be described as male chauvinists, she replied that it had been an advantage being a woman. As a matter of fact, none of the girls in Lucie鈥檚 class and any problems finding jobs. She thinks the firms in question are trying to change their image since their present one is not exactly setting the world on fire with approval.
Lucie feels that coming to 麻豆AV was a real asset 鈥減arce que 麻豆AV est bilingue.鈥� At this, our old 麻豆AV interviewer referred to her Berlitz Manual whereupon she agreed wholeheartedly with Lucie.
Lucie said that her early days at 麻豆AV had been very difficult because she spoke little English, and so conversation was restricted to grunts and monosyllables. But, on the whole, she felt the students and teachers were 鈥渘ice to me鈥� 鈥� admitting however that it wasn鈥檛 the Garden of Eden.
She felt that the Faculty of Management offered all the advantages of a big university in a small friendly atmosphere. Lucie鈥檚 final statement: 鈥淢anagement is the best.鈥�
