Schools of Thought in Strategic Management

Strategic management focuses solely on the process a business goes through in creating a sustainable competitive advantage. Just as there’s usually more than one option for solving most business problems, there’s more than one school of thought for creating a strategic management plan. Some of the most commonly implemented by both large and small businesses are those identified by Henry Mintzberg, Bruce Ahlstrand and Joseph Lampel in 1998.

New building to give Sheridan room to grow

College degree programs in business are proving popular with students, with one Ontario institution expanding its footprint to meet demand.

Sheridan College has announced plans for a 220,000-square-foot building to open in fall 2016 at its Mississauga campus, named for the municipality’s long-serving and just-retired mayor Hazel McCallion. The new building will house an expanded business faculty and other disciplines.
