Library Use Policy

The Schulich Library of Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Engineering’s policies aim to create environments that support teaching, learning and research at Â鶹AV. Adherence to library use policies will help ensure positive outcomes and experiences for library users.

Library Spaces

  • Floors 1, 3 and 6 are Quiet Zones reserved for quiet individual study. Conversation, phone calls, videoconferencing, and other noise-making activities are not allowed in these areas. Cellphones should be silenced.
  • Floors 2 and 4 are Study Zones. Hushed tones are permitted. Cellphones should be silenced.
  • The 5th Floor is a Group Study Zone where quiet conversations and videoconferencing are allowed with earbuds or earphones.
  • The Library’s service point is located on the 2nd floor next to the entrance. Please respect users that are consulting with staff in this area by speaking in hushed tones and moving briskly to your preferred location in the library.
  • Please visit our 3D printing page for information about using the library’s 3D printing lab on the 4th floor.
