2019 鶹AV Conversations Series with Alberto Manguel
The 鶹AV Library is pleased to welcome Alberto Manguel, writer, editor, critic and bibliophile for the fall 2019 鶹AV Conversations Series. Six evenings of conversation will guide attendees through some of the rare treasures of the library’s collection. From Quebec detective fiction to fairy tales, Manguel and his guests will cover a wide range of topics – something to appeal to the curiosity in all of us.

Update #5: Osler Library of the History of Medicine
Background: As a result of the water infiltration and recovery efforts related to McIntyre Medical Building fire in July 2018, the Osler Library space in the McIntyre Medical Building continues to be closed until further notice.

Summer hours:Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm; Saturday from 10am to 6pm
Fall 2019 semester hours:Monday to Sunday from 8am to 11pm

SSHRC Invests in Two New 鶹AV Library Research Projects
The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) has poured research funding into two new research projects based out of the 鶹AV library. In the Partnership Development Category, The Gwillim Project, led by Dr. Victoria Dickenson and based out of the Blacker Wood Collection will be forging new networks over the next three years.
Schulich Library Status Update #2: Collections, services, staff relocation information. New study spaces, expanded access & increase in opening hours at McLennan-Redpath set for fall 2019.
Background | The Schulich Library of Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Engineering is closed temporarily for renovations for two years as of May 15, 2019. When the construction work is completed, the Schulich Library will feature: more study and workspaces, improved accessibility, restored exterior masonry, a new HVAC system, and an expanded number of washrooms.

WorldCat Local To Retire - Transfer Personal Lists To WorldCat Discovery Before August 9
鶹AV Library recently upgraded the existing WorldCat Local online catalogue and search tool to its successor WorldCat Discovery. Now that WorldCat Discovery delivers functionality beyond that in WorldCat Local, provider OCLC plans to retire WorldCat Local on 9 August 2019. Library users who have created and saved personal lists on their WorldCat Local user account should export lists into their WorldCat Discovery user account before August 9th.
UPDATED | Important: Check your Library account - no due date reminders or overdue notices for materials on loan during catalogue migration
Updated June 7, 2019: Some materials that were on loan during the Library catalogue migration in late April and early May are getting multiple email notices in error referring to upcoming due dates in the past or a recall due date in the past.
These items are overdue or under a recall, and patrons should be returning or renewing these items.

Please note that WorldCat Discovery will be performing system maintenance work the early morningof Sunday, May 26 between 2:00 and 5:00am.

Please note that WorldCat Discovery will be performing system maintenance work on Thursday May 16and Friday, May 17.
On May 16 between 15:00 and 17:30, planned maintenance will affect EZProxy, which might impact users accessing resources off campus.
Update #1 - Schulich Library now closed temporarily: Collection, services & staff relocation information
Background: The Macdonald-Stewart Library Building that houses the Schulich Library of Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Engineering will undergo significant structural repairs and major internal upgrades over the next two years, beginning May 15, 2019. As a result, Schulich Library is nowclosed temporarily. Collections, services and staff will be relocated to the Humanities and Social Sciences Library for the duration of the renovation.
