Application Process

Special Note: Postdoctoral Fellowships

Attention to all our postdoctoral applicants and supervisors, due to the changes made by the government of Quebec as of January 2017 and unionization of Postdoctoral fellows, award amount will be subject to the assessment of applicable taxes and benefit rates required by payroll regulations. Supervisors are responsible to top-up successful applicants if the award amount is less than the required minimum.Ìý

The annualized minimum salary for a Post-Doctoral Researcher is as follows:

  • June 2, 2024: Forty-five thousand dollars ($45,000)
  • June 1, 2025: Forty-eight thousand dollars ($48,000)

Receiving an Internal Postdoctoral Fellowship through this competition, may affect the status of the candidate and have implications for tax and benefit contributions from the trainee and their supervisor. Since the aforementioned governmental changes, Â鶹AV Postdocs have dual status as students and employees. Postdocs who receive >25% of their funding from a Â鶹AV fund are considered a Category Group C, Postdoctoral Researcher.

All applicants and their supervisors will be asked to sign, indicating that they are aware of the impact of receiving this award and have read the information available through the GPS website.
