Posting a Job
Follow these guidelines when posting a job:
- Help students appreciate the skills they'll both contribute and gain from the role
- Provide an accurate and detailed description of functions, responsibilities, hours, duration, etc. Verify this description with your HR Advisor, if required
- Include required qualifications
- Describe the application process and deadline
- Respect the posting and hiring process indicated in the collective agreement if it's a unionized position. For example, you must use the corresponding generic job profile/title, and pay scale for AMUSE jobs, which can be referenced here
Job Boards
There are numerous places to post when you are recruiting students searching for work:
- The main job board campus employers must use to recruit students is Workday

- Work Study is a program that provides a subsidy incentive for Â鶹AV student jobs to prioritize the hiring of students in financial need

Interviewing
During the interview:
- DON'TÌýask questions related to protected categoriesÌýsuch as age, religion, nationality, marital status, etc.
- DOÌýask open-ended questions related to job functions and responsibilities (e.g., behavioural and scenario questions).
- What experience do you have with ____?
- What attracted you to this job?
- Tell me about a time when you encountered a challenge working with a colleague.Ìý
- What would you consider one of your greatest accomplishments?
Onboarding

Orient and Train
Refer your new hire to this site so they get self-service access to important info and resources. This can save you time and effort when certain questions come up.
