Lisanne Tremblay, M.A., c.o.
Psychotherapist (OCCOQ/OPQ) (elle/she)
PGME Wellness Consultant
When facing the inevitable challenges of life, Lisanne believes we can reduce our pain greatly by tuning into our inner world with openness, in a safe and supportive environment. No matter how hard our reality might be, she thinks we can develop compassion for ourselves, heal our wounds, and find our own creative ways to take on a new path filled with meaning. She has experienced this process herself and its transformative power inspired her to facilitate it for other humans. She is honored and grateful for getting to do this work and see residents growing and feeling better every day.
Lisanne holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Â鶹AV and a Graduate certificate in music therapy from Concordia University. She owns a psychotherapy license from the Ordre des psychologues du QuĂ©bec (OPQ) and her counselling services are regulated by the Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d’orientation du QuĂ©bec (OCCOQ).
Lisanne uses an integrative framework, which acknowledges each person’s unique needs and preferences, and incorporates elements from different evidence-based approaches, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) (third-wave CBT), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and Existential-Humanistic Therapy. Lisanne has worked with individuals from across the globe dealing with a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, academic stress, relational wounds, and life transitions. She has worked in hospital settings as an interpreter for over a decade, which allowed her to learn from multiple medical doctors and residents across specialties. She supported many immigrant families and political refugees through this work, which helped her deepen her multicultural competencies, as well as her understanding of trauma and systemic barriers. Lisanne is also a professional musician and has gained insight into the specific demands of high-performance careers over the last 20 years. Lisanne cares deeply about social justice, and she is committed to serving people from all identities and backgrounds to the best of her abilities. She practices mindfulness and offers services in English, French, and Spanish.
