YCGL 420 Intercultural Communication & Globalization (10 CEUs)
Intended for non-native speakers of English who want to develop intercultural communication competency for travel, work, or living in a different culture. Explores intercultural communication and its importance for successful cross-cultural experiences. Identifies frameworks for analyzing different dimensions of cultural values, creating an awareness of the aspects of intercultural communication competency and its necessity for successful intercultural communication in the context of our rapidly changing, increasingly globalized world.

For students with a mid-intermediate to advanced knowledge of English who wish to improve their pronunciation. A comprehensive overview of the English sound system with an emphasis on supra-segmentals, stress and intonation. Special attention will be given to individual pronunciation problems.

YCIT 001 HTML Development Fundamentals (4 CEUs)
Fundamentals of HTML including how HTML pages are structured, some of the semantic elements that can be added to an HTML page, and how to choose the best syntax for the web pages. Focus on the core HTML5 client application development skills that will run on today's touch-enabled devices (PCs, tablets and phones).

HTML5, CSS3, HTML elements, the box model, common CSS properties and selectors, common HTML tags. Creating mobile responsive websites.  30 hours class + approximately 20 hours of assignments.
YCIT 002 CSS Fundamentals (4 CEUs)
Fundamentals of CSS. Using the latest version of CSS. Focus on creating basic styles, and how to attach these styles to elements of an HTML page. Addresses the most important elements of CSS, starting with selectors, which connect the style rule to HTML, using pseudo classes and pseudo elements.

Object-oriented programming and how it differs from traditional procedural programming, including JavaScript: graphical user interfaces, code for responding to button clicks (known as event-driven programming), using the latest ECMAScript6 standard.
