Â鶹AV’s School of Continuing Studies’ Career, Advising, and Transition Services (CATS) respects, honours, and celebrates the diversity in our community that includes, but is not limited to, race, ethnicity, national origin, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, ability, socio-economic status, class, neurodiversity, and religion. In the spirit of , we continue to develop and enhance existing Indigenous relationships and ensure that we can effectively support Indigenous learnears’ career goals. As such, SCS - CATS is committed to fostering and maintaining an inclusive environment that brings together diverse perspectives from our students, clients, partners, the CATS team, and members of the community.

CATS’ commitment to EDI aligns with Â鶹AV’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Strategic Plan 2020-2025 and the School of Continuing Studies’ EDI values and strategic plan. Core to Â鶹AV’s commitment is “bolstering and celebrating student diversity, striving to provide equitable support and access to opportunities, and promoting a respectful and inclusive learning experience for all students.â€

CATS actively and intentionally creates, supports, and maintains a learning and sharing environment as well as a culture that is free from discriminatory and intimidating behaviour. We seek to address issues of concern related to equity-seeking groups in a timely and effective manner.

CATS brings together talented students and members of the wider community with diverse and intersecting identities so that all can flourish. While SCS CATS continues to develop and promote equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives in its programming, promotions, and in-person and online events, we acknowledge that our work in this regard is just beginning. Our continuing efforts are guided by evidence-based successful approaches to effectively removing barriers to inclusion. We also provide allyship to ensure that all members of the Â鶹AV SCS CATS community are treated in a fair and ethical manner and are supported throughout their journey toward professional and personal success.
