Jeffry Archer appointed Associate Dean, User Services
The Â鶹AV Library and Archives is pleased to welcome Jeffry Archer as the new Associate Dean, User Services, on a four-year term effective January 3, 2017.
135 years of theses available online
In  conjunction with Open Access Week and Homecoming, 135 years of Â鶹AV graduate scholarship is now available online! Years in the making, the electronic thesis and dissertation collection now includes almost 42,000 open access Â鶹AV theses and dissertations dating back to 1881. Theses and dissertations are searchable by faculty and department, degree, or subject at escholarship.mcgill.ca.

Library hours over Thanksgiving weekend
Most Library branches will be closed on Monday, October 10 (Thanksgiving Day, Canada). Many Library branches will be open with modified hours for study over the weekend, with some offering services. Please visit the individual branch pages on the Library website for details regarding opening and service hours.
Database trial: Drama Online
We have a trial of Drama Online until November 20, 2016.Â
Extended study hours at Macdonald Campus Library begin October 1
Extended study hours at Macdonald Campus Library will begin on October 1, 2016. From October 1 through December 20, in addition to the regular service hours, the Library will be open for study Monday to Thursday from 6 to 10pm and Saturdays from 12 to 8pm.
RESOLVED: Problems accessing ACS resources
Update, September 26: The issues with off-campus access to the ACS (American Chemical Society) have been resolved.
We are currently experiencing problems accessing ACS (American Chemical Society) resources from off-campus over EZproxy (authenticating using your Â鶹AV username). In the interim, you can access these resources by first connecting to Â鶹AV VPN, then open ACS resources. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Schulich Library of Science & Engineering closing at 10pm on Monday, October 3
Please note that the Schulich Library of Science and Engineering will be closing two hours earlier than usual at 10pm in order for Facilities Management and Ancillary Services to shut down water supply and install a new water meter system. Work will begin at 10pm and should be completed by 6am the next morning.Â
Upcoming changes to PressDisplay, September 26
On Monday, September 26, the Library PressDisplay desktop platform is being updated. You will still be able to access the same worldwide newspaper content as well as create a personal account to customise your home newspaper feed or create your own collections. This update does not affect the PressReader mobile app.
