Roman V. Galperin is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour at the Desautels Faculty of Management, Â鶹AV. He studies how signals and perceptions of competence contribute to social inequality in the contexts of medicine, household credit, tax administration and intellectual property. His recent work explores how formal signals of competence, such as occupational licenses, and informal signals, such as prestige of prior employer, shape careers of individual workers and affect entrepreneurial activity on the population level.
